Chairman of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration Serhii Haidai predicts a significant increase in shelling in the Luhansk region in the coming days.
Source: Haidai on the 24-hour news broadcast on Sunday evening
Direct speech: "From conversations we have intercepted, we understand that the commander of the Russian army received two tasks: the first, to capture the city of Sieverodonetsk by June 10; the second, to fully control the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway by June 10. Therefore, we expect in the near future that they will throw all the reserves that they have available, all the equipment, all the personnel that they have, into performing these two tasks."
Details: Haidai answered in the affirmative to the question of the news show host, whether this means that the next 5 days will be "hellish".
"Yes, and this will most likely consist of an increase in the number of attacks from heavy artillery, from all the kinds of "2S7 Pion [Peony] self-propelled guns", "Giatsint self-propelled guns" and "2S4 Tyulpan self-propelled heavy mortar" that they have there. They will try to just level everything to the ground. They have no other tactics, they do not know how to fight differently," said the chairman of the EMA.
Background: Earlier on Sunday, Haidai said that the Armed Forces control exactly half of Sieverodonetsk.
He believes that the Ukrainian military has the opportunity to completely liberate Sieverodonetsk, but strategically it is not as important as Lysychansk.
