Haidai: Armed Forces of Ukraine control half of Sievierodonetsk

Serhii Haidai, head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, has said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine controls exactly half of Sievierodonetsk.

Quote from Haidai: "The Russians did control 70% of Sievierodonetsk, but within two days they were pushed back, and the city has been divided in half [in terms of control].

They are afraid to roam the city so freely."

Details: According to Haidai, the occupiers have lost a huge number of personnel, with eight Russians taken prisoner.

Haidai explained that all the reserves of the aggressors’ army are focused on seizing Sievierodonetsk and the main Lysychansk-Bakhmut road.

Background:

• According to the American Institute for War Studies, Russian forces can still capture Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk, but Ukraine's defence remains strong in this key position.
• Fighting is currently continuing on the streets of Sievierodonetsk, and the Russians have forcibly deported some of the residents of Sievierodonetsk to the occupied territories.
