Source: Maksym Marchenko, head of the Odesa Oblast Military Administration, in a video address
Quote: "Today the enemy attacked the oblast with two missiles.
Fortunately, there are no casualties and no damage [to infrastructure - ed.]."
Details: Marchenko said that the Russian occupying forces had lost a large amount of military equipment and personnel and been forced to withdraw from Zmiinyi (Snake) Island due to the powerful work of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
Commenting on Russia’s claim that the withdrawal of Russian troops from Zmiinyi was a "goodwill gesture", Marchenko said that "their gesture burned very bright".
Earlier: On Thursday, Russian occupying forces fled Zmiinyi (Snake) Island after a series of attacks carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, some of which involved Bohdana, a Ukrainian howitzer.
Later on, the Russian government claimed that it had "completed its mission on Zmiinyi Island" and withdrawn the troops that had been positioned there "as a goodwill gesture".
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Odesa Oblast has now been liberated from the occupiers in its entirety.
