"Go to hell": the Ambassador of Ukraine in Germany Melnyk on a letter from "German intellectuals" calling for an end to support for Ukraine

Andrii Melnyk, Ukraine's ambassador to Germany, has advised the signatories of a letter in German newspaper Die Zeit to "go to hell" after they called on Western countries to stop military support for Kyiv and create conditions for negotiations as soon as possible.
This was reported by "European Pravda".
About 20 German intellectuals in a letter entitled "Ceasefire now!" believe that further military support for Ukraine by the West is blurring the understanding of what purpose they are pursuing.
"A victory for Ukraine with the reconquest of all occupied territories including the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and Crimea is considered unrealistic by military experts, since Russia is militarily superior and is capable of further military escalation," the letter said.
The authors claim that they condemn Russia's actions, in particular its war crimes in Ukraine, but add that "continuing the war in Ukraine will not solve the problem".
"The current developments regarding transit to the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad and Putin's announcement that he would deliver nuclear-capable missile systems to Belarus show that the risk of escalation is increasing. The West must do everything in its power to ensure that the parties come to a negotiated solution in the near future," the German intellectuals add.
They believe that the talks do not mean forcing Ukraine to surrender or the peace dictated by Putin, and that the West must make it clear that it "has no interest in continuing the war and will change its policy accordingly".
Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andrii Melnyk called the authors of the letter "losers."
"Don't do this, what a bunch of pseudo-intellectual losers. You all ought to ultimately go to hell with your defeatist 'advice'. Good luck."
This is not the first such appeal by "German intellectuals". On 23 April, a number of former German politicians, intellectuals and opinion leaders published an open appeal to the German government, the essence of which was, in fact, to force Ukraine to surrender.
However, in early May, a group of German intellectuals, led by former Green Party politician Ralph Fuchs, responded to a letter initiated by journalist Alice Schwarzer and called for the delivery of heavy weapons.
