Investigative journalists have calculated that, according to Russian Defence Ministry reports, the Russian military have destroyed 39,000 "areas of accumulation of manpower and equipment" and "strongholds" of Ukrainian troops, but have allegedly killed 40,000 servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Details: The investigators analysed around 200 briefings by the Russian Defence Ministry and found many inaccuracies and lies.

The journalists drew attention to a cryptic term from the Russian Defence Ministry's dictionary - "accumulation of manpower and equipment". A military spokesman uses it all the time, but there is no exact definition.

Quote: "In the first hundred days of the war, Russia, according to reports from its Ministry of Defence, allegedly destroyed 39,000 "areas of accumulation of manpower and equipment" and "strongholds of Ukrainian troops" in Ukraine.

It is not quite clear how such an impressive figure was obtained, since the sum of all the separately named types of destroyed military equipment clearly does not match this number.

The most interesting part, however, is the ratio of human losses to losses in equipment. If we divide the number of Ukrainians killed - 40,000 (according to the Russian Ministry of Defence, counted as of 4 June) by the number of "areas of accumulation" - 39,800 (according to the Russian Ministry of Defence, counted as of 4 June), it turns out that on average, 1 person has been killed in each area."

More details: the publication Proyekt discovered that the Russian army had "destroyed" more aircraft, tanks, armoured vehicles and drones than Ukraine could possibly have, even taking into account supplies from other countries, as follows:
