Quote: "Russia has finally squeezed out the alleged recognition of the occupation structures in Donbas as alleged [independent] states from Syria. This is an empty story.
"And in that case, Ukraine will no longer have any relations with Syria. On the contrary, the pressure of sanctions against Syria will be even greater."
Background: On Wednesday, the Syrian state agency SANA, citing an official source in the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported that Syria had decided to recognize the "independence" of Moscow-controlled pseudo-republics established on Ukrainian territory, namely "Donetsk People’s Republic" and "Luhansk People’s Republic."
