VALENTYNA ROMANENKO – WEDNESDAY, 29 JUNE 2022, 15:19

The large number of victims of the Russian missile attack on the "Amstor" mall in Kremenchuk could have been avoided if people who were inside the mall had responsibly left the mall and hidden in the shelter after air raid sirens went off.

Source: Oleksandr Khorunzhyi, spokesperson of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, at the briefing in "Ukraina-Ukrinform" media centre

Quote: "The number of victims could have been significantly lower if everyone had responsibly taken appropriate safety measures when the air raid sirens went off. We’re living in times when ignoring the air raid siren can cost someone their life. On hearing such a signal, everyone must immediately leave the building and go to the nearest shelter."

Details: Khorunzhyi added that the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carries out no checks of malls during wartime but these will be resumed once military action is over.
