Zelenskyy shares video of Russian missile strike on shopping centre in Kremenchuk

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared video footage of Russian missiles hitting a shopping centre in Kremenchuk.

Quote: "As of this evening, the total number of Russian missiles that have hit our cities reached 2,811. And how many more air bombs, how many artillery shells…?!

The UN Security Council  stood in silence today to commemorate all Ukrainians killed by the Russian army on our soil. The members of the Russian delegation looked at everyone present in the Security Council and also decided to stand up — just so as not to look like outright murderers. But everyone knows that it is Russian terror, it is the Russian state that is killing innocent people in this war waged against the Ukrainian people.

Today, I want to end this address with one such piece of evidence — so that no-one dares to deceive about the missile strike at the shopping mall in Kremenchuk. The Russian missile hit this very object, deliberately. Obviously, that was the order. It is obvious that Russian assassins received such coordinates for this missile. They wanted to kill as many people as possible in a peaceful city, in an ordinary shopping centre."

Details: The President has assured Ukrainians that all those involved in the missile attacks on civilian targets, as well as Russian diplomats and propagandists who justify the attack, will be punished.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the Ukrainian authorities have  obtained the names of all those who made the decision to launch a missile strike on Kremenchuk.

Background:

On 27 June, the Russians launched a missile strike on the Amstor shopping centre in Kremenchuk. A second missile damaged the building of "Kredmash" PRJSC [a machine engineering plant - ed.], which only produced spare parts for civilian cars.

In the afternoon on 28 June, the Presidential Office reported that more than 20 people were killed in a Russian missile strike at the Amstor shopping centre.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has already identified the Russian pilots who launched rockets at the shopping centre in Kremenchuk. Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova is convinced that the missile strike on the Amstor shopping centre should be qualified as a crime against humanity falling under the jurisdiction of the UN International Criminal Court.

The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting regarding the missile strike on Kremenchuk. Leaders of the G7 countries have said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian government leaders will be held accountable for the missile strike on Kremenchuk.
