The Security Service of Ukraine: Russian secret services attempt to hack the Ukrainian national joint televised newscast

Cybersecurity experts of the Security Service of Ukraine have detected and blocked the attempts by the Russian secret services to hack the electronic systems of Ukrainian television channels.

Details: Reportedly on the eve of the Constitution Day of Ukraine Russians wanted to use the resources of the 24/7 national joint newscast "for their own destructive information operations".
The Security Service of Ukraine states that Russian hackers has tried to gain access to:
- the current live video stream;
- the live broadcast news feed;
- individual computers of the staff of the channels that work with the content.
Quote: "Thanks to timely detection and measures taken by the Security Service of Ukraine, these unauthorised actions have been successfully prevented. Yet such incidents may happen again.
Cyberattacks are a part of Russia’s focused efforts to influence the Ukrainian information space, spread fake news and wage a hybrid war".
