President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine has congratulated Ukrainians on Constitution Day and – recalling Ukraine’s fight against Russia – expressed certainty that Ukraine’s victory was inevitable.

Quote from Zelesnkyy: "We did not start this war, we did not fire the first bullets and we were not the first ones to attack. We are defending the sovereign and democratic Ukraine, a social and legal state.
We did not hesitate before taking up arms. We did not hesitate whether to defend the first article of our Constitution or God’s first commandment. God is on our side, he says that to defend your home from evil is not a sin. It is a sin not to defend it."
Details: Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine’s sovereignty extends to its entire territory, and that is the reason why the Ukrainian people "are heroically fighting to defend the principles and the second article of the Constitution, holding back the world’s second army."
The president said that while Russia remains indifferent to the threats and risks of World War III, Ukrainians care about the third article of the Constitution, which states that the highest social value is a human being and her life, health, honour and dignity, and inviolability and security.
Zelenskyy underscored that the constitutional order in Ukraine can be amended only by the people of Ukraine – those who know the meaning of "democracy" and the meaning of the fifth term [alluding to the possibility that President Vladimir Putin of Russia has signed a law that will allow him to run for the presidency twice more in his lifetime, potentially keeping him in office until 2036 – his fifth and sixth terms as president - ed.].
President Zelenskyy also emphasised that Ukraine’s national flag combines two sacred colours and that enemy flags will only fly on Ukraine’s territory temporarily.
He recalled that Ukraine has its own language, but respects and does not oppress other languages, which is why "today, people fighting for Ukraine speak Ukrainian, Crimean Tatar, Polish, Russian, Belarusian, Moldovan, Hungarian, Romanian, Georgian, and many other languages."
Quote from Zelenskyy: "Our resistance has already lasted 125 days. For the rest of the world, this is the eighth wonder of the world, for the enemy it’s a grave danger, and for us – the 17th article of the Constitution of Ukraine. Ukraine’s defence is the utmost duty of the state and the responsibility of the Ukrainian people.
The enemy cannot comprehend the might with which we are prepared to fight for our freedom, for our rights and freedoms. He who does not have it himself will never be able to deprive others of it. That’s why our victory is inevitable. The enemy will inevitably be punished. It will happen. And peace will come.
Victory is not far off! Victory is ours!"
