Russian invaders do not know how to fight and "crumble" as soon as we have something to push with – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the Russian invaders do not know how to fight and immediately flee as soon as the Armed Forces of Ukraine use effective weapons against them.

Quote: "I said today, addressing the leaders of the G7 [G7 countries - ed.], that our total potential is absolutely sufficient to defeat the Russian army. They [Russian army - ed.] do not know how to fight. All the operations we carry out to liberate our territories demonstrate one thing: the occupiers ‘crumble’ when we have something to put pressure on them. They do not know how to resist.
They are only capable of vile strikes such as those we have seen in Kremenchuk or in Saltivka today. [They are] only [capable] of the total thoughtless destruction of all living things as in Mariupol.
Therefore, the war may not drag on, if we can really push together and drive the occupiers out of our Ukrainian land. The sooner this happens, the more lives will be saved."
Details: The President stated that Russia had fired almost 2,800 different cruise missiles at Ukrainian cities since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The number of mortar shells, air bombs and MLRS rockets fired on Ukrainian cities in four months has been estimated at hundreds of thousands.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked the West to provide modern air defense systems as soon as possible in response to the acts of terrorism committed by Russian troops against the civilian population, and to legally recognise Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
He stressed that doing business, paying taxes and customs duties, as well as trade with Russia should be recognised as supporting and financing of a terrorist organisation.
Background:
- On the afternoon of 27 June, the Russians launched missile strikes on a shopping centre in Kremenchuk, Poltava Oblast, with more than 1,000 people inside. 13 people were killed and over 40 were injured, as of the evening news update.
- On 27 June, the Russians shelled Kharkiv residential areas. These artillery attacks killed at least five people and injured over 20 others, according to the region’s Military Administration.
- In the evening on 27 June, the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration reported that Russian troops had fired on crowds of people in Lysychansk who were queuing for water. At least eight people were killed, including two children, and over two dozen people were injured.
