Enerhodar mayor Dmytro Orlov has spoken about a "line of business" being pursued by the invaders - the abduction of Ukrainians for money.
Source: Orlov on Telegram
Direct quote from Orlov: "Hundreds of residents of the city are currently being held captive. A significant number of them are highly-skilled employees of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. People are being electrocuted, beaten and held in custody for weeks, sometimes even months.
In addition to the so-called "political" prisoners, the invaders have another major line of business - abducting people for money. The orcs’ standard fee in the district for the release of a person who has been imprisoned under any pretext is 50,000 hryvnias [US$1,700].
This money has to be paid by the prisoners themselves or members of their families."
Details: According to Orlov, the mayor's office receives 2-3 reports of new abductions every day.
