Over 80 strikes recorded in Sumy Oblast: 1 man died

During the day, the Russian occupiers launched more than 80 strikes in Sumy Oblast, killing one man.

Details: Around 9:00, the Russian occupiers opened fire with their assault rifles at the Yunakivka homada (amalgamated territorial community). 

From 9:00 to 10:00, the occupiers shelled Stari Vyrky and Atynske in the Bilopilska hromada. The strikes have damaged the Atynskyy Psychoneurological care home, water tower and local farm. 

Two animals were also injured and agricultural machinery was damaged.

At noon, the Russian army was firing mortars at Hlukhivska hromada. 

At 14:40, the Russian army dropped an explosive device over the Velykopysarivska hromada from a drone and then opened mortar fire. One person was killed as a result of the attack. 

Around 15:00, the Russian occupiers fired mortars and used assault rifles against the Khotyn hromada. Later, at 16:30, they opened fire from rocket-launching artillery at the outskirts of the above-mentioned hromada. 

After 17:00, Shalahanska hromada was under attack. In total, witnesses counted about 30 strikes from the rocket-launching artillery. No victims or damages resulting from the attacks have been reported.  

Around 18:00, an enemy drone dropped an explosive device on the Hlukhivska hromada, but no one was injured.

At almost 21:00, a police car exploded after hitting a Russian mine in the Okhtyrka district. Two police officers sitting in it were injured.

Background: 

  • On the night of 22 June, the Russian army shelled the Esmanska and Novoslobidska hromadas. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated in its evening report that the Russian army attacked such settlements as Turya, Myropilske and Slavhorod in Sumy Oblast. 
  • On 21 June, Russian kamikaze drones attacked Krasnopilska hromada in Sumy Oblast. As a result of the attack, four civilians were injured, with two of them in critical condition.
  • On Monday, 20 June, one man died as a result of the Russian strikes on Sumy Oblast.
