Large convoys of Russian equipment leave Mariupol – Mayor's adviser

The adviser to the Mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, said that for the second day in a row, large convoys of Russian occupiers’ equipment are leaving Mariupol and the Mariupol region in the direction of Berdyansk-Polohy.

Quote: "The occupiers have changed their traffic control tactics. Stationary checkpoints have been dismantled; only checkpoints at bridges are left. At the same time, traffic control is more often exercised by mobile groups that suddenly appear in different parts of the city.
The change in tactics is due to the withdrawal of most of the remnants of the occupiers’ military from the city to other parts of the front. Simply due to a lack of resources.
In particular, for the second day in a row, large convoys of military equipment have been leaving Mariupol and the Mariupol region in the direction of Berdyansk-Polohy."
Details: According to him, there is a reluctance among the military occupiers to continue participating in the war, especially among the residents of Donetsk Oblast.
The adviser to the mayor of Mariupol claims that dissatisfaction is growing among the occupiers and they are more likely to think about surrendering, especially after the news of their transfer toward Zaporizhzhia.
However, he notes that the occupiers are afraid they will die, due to lack of a clear mechanism of captivity.
Background:
- Mariupol was besieged by the Russian troops on 1 March. From the end of April, the defenders of Mariupol were blocked at the Azovstal plant: they included members of the Azov National Guard regiment, marines, border guards, and police.
