Attack on Mykolaiv Oblast: Russia used cluster munitions, civilians killed and wounded

One civilian was killed and six were wounded in a Russian shelling of Mykolaiv Oblast, which has also resulted in damage to houses, businesses, and infrastructure.

Details: On the morning of 21 June, Russian missiles hit an industrial facility in Mykolaiv, damaging several of its buildings.

Russian forces also used cluster munitions, banned by international law, in an attack on residential districts. One of the munitions exploded in front of two men in the yard of a private house, killing one of them. The other man sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical attention.

Shyroke hromada [amalgamated territorial community - ed.] was also shelled on the morning of 21 June. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. Three residential buildings and a school’s roof were damaged. Russian shells also hit farmed land.

Russian troops attacked Inhulka hromada on the afternoon of 21 June, wounding two civilians. Information about the extent of damage and destruction is being confirmed.

Russian forces continue to fire on the Bereznehuvate hromada. Information about casualties and the extent of destruction is being confirmed.

Social infrastructure facilities were damaged by Russian shelling in the village of Solonchaky in Kutsurub hromada in the Mykolaiv district. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

The city of Ochakiv was also shelled on the afternoon of 21 June. One person sustained injuries. Two social infrastructure facilities, port infrastructure, residential buildings, garages, and cars were damaged; dry grass caught on fire. On the outskirts of the city, crop fields were burning. Gas supply to 250 households was cut off.

The village of Bohdanivka in Radisnyi Sad hromada also came under Russian fire; there were no casualties.

Over the course of 21 June Russian troops also fired on the town of Pervomaiske and the village of Mykolaivka in Pervomaiske hromada. One person was wounded, houses were damaged. Dry grass and crop fields caught on fire.

Mishkovo-Pohorilove hromada also came under Russian fire on 21 June; industrial infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result.
