Russian-occupied gas rigs still on fire in Black Sea: fire reaches the borehole
UKRAINSKA PRAVDA – TUESDAY, 21 JUNE 2022, 10:32
Russian occupying forces cannot contain the fire on the so-called Boiko Towers, gas rigs that belong to the Russian-appropriated Chornomornaftogaz [an oil and gas company located in Simferopol, Crimea, that was "nationalised" by the Crimean authorities after the annexation of the peninsula - ed.]. Ukrainian missiles hit the towers on Monday, 20 June. The fire has spread to the borehole.
Source: TASS, Russian Kremlin-aligned news agency, quoting Olga Kovitidi, Russian collaborator in Crimea
Quote from Kovitidi: "At present [the fire is still being extinguished - ed.], our ship tried to approach [the towers - ed.] but couldn’t, the fire has spread to the borehole itself."
Details: According to Kovitidi, no one was found in the search for workers who serviced the platforms. The Russian military is also working at the site of the incident.
Earlier: On 20 June, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the drilling rigs that belong to the Russian-appropriated Chornomornaftogaz; the rigs are also known as the Boiko Towers.
