Polish border guards have noticed a provocation by Belarusian soldiers who have been trying to tunnel under a newly erected fence at the border.

The Polish border guards tweeted about this, posting a photo, European Pravda reports.

The officers spotted a group of six Belarusian soldiers attempting to dig under a fence on the Polish-Belarusian border near the village of Dubicze Cerkiewne.

Furthermore, 21 people tried to enter Poland illegally yesterday by crossing the border from Belarus. They were migrants from Morocco, Senegal and India.

Poland completed the construction of a 140-kilometre barrier on the border with Belarus in mid-June.

Earlier it was reported that the 5-metre-high barrier would stretch for 186 kilometres. The construction work is scheduled to be completed by 30 June.

An influx of thousands of migrants from the Middle East and Africa to the Polish-Lithuanian border with Belarus started last summer, leading to clashes with Polish border guards.

After that, Poland installed barbed wire on the border with Belarus and increased the number of border guards.
