Russia attempts to hold back Ukrainian advance, actively deploys aircraft – General Staff report

The Russian occupying forces have focused their efforts on holding back the advance and offensives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, actively conducting intensive missile and air strikes.

Details: Up to three Russian battalion tactical groups of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District along with Russian airborne units continue to be deployed on Russian Federation territory on the Sivershchyna front in order to cover the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Bryansk and Kursk oblasts of Russia. Russia has deployed an additional S-300B4 anti-aircraft missile system to an anti-aircraft missile division in Bryansk Oblast.

In addition, Russian forces opened artillery fire on the city of Seredyna-Buda in Sumy Oblast.

On the Slobozhanshchyna front, Russian forces conducted an air strike and opened artillery fire on the areas around Tymofiivka and Morozova Dolyna.

On the Kharkiv front, Russia’s main efforts are focused on preventing the Ukrainian Armed Forces from advancing to the state border of Ukraine. Russian forces intensively fired on the areas around Kozacha Lopan, Mali Prokhody, Dementiivka, Petrivka, Verknii Saltiv, Rubizhne, and the outskirts of the city of Kharkiv, using artillery.

On the Sloviansk front, Russian occupying forces inflicted fire damage with artillery, including multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) on Chapel, Pryshyb, Protopopivka, Velyka Komyshuvakha, Dibrivne, Virnopillia, Maiak, Kurulka, Bohorodychne, Mazanivka, Krasnopillia, and Dolyna.

On the Donetsk front, Russia’s main efforts are still focused on the Sievierodonetsk and Bakhmut fronts. Russia is actively deploying its military aircraft.

On the Sievierodonetsk front, Russian forces deployed artillery, including MLRS, to fire on Lysychansk, Syrotyne, Voronove, Borivske, Bila Hora, Ustynivka, Myrna Dolyna, and Toshkivka. Two Russian Su-25 planes attacked the areas around Bila Hora and Myrna Dolyna. Fighting to establish full control over the city of Sievierodonetsk continues. 

On the Bakhmut front, Russian troops fired on the areas around Orikhove, Zolote-3, Mykolaivka, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Pokrovske, Klynove, Zaitseve, and New-York with artillery and MLRS. They conducted a missile strike near Travneve, Dolomitne, Zaitseve, and New-York. Russian aircraft conducted an airstrike near Yakovlivka.

Russian forces attempted to prevent units of Ukrainian troops from regrouping on the Lyman, Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivka, and Zaporizhzhia fronts.

Russian troops used different types and calibres of artillery to fire on the areas around Kalynove, Ocheretyne, Berdychi, Zhelanne, Tonenke, Sieverne, Orlivka, Semenivka, Vesele, Avdiivka, Netailove, Vodiane, Opytne, Pervomaiske, Pisky, Krasnohorivka, Marʼinka, Novomykhailivka, Pavlivka, Shevchenko, Velyka Novosilka, Vremivka, Olhivske, Zelene Pole, Novopil, Temyrivka, Poltavka, Malynivka, Chervone, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, and Kamʼianske.

On the Lyman front, two Russian Su-25 aircraft conducted an airstrike near the town of Maiaky.

On the Avdiivka front, Russian Su-25 aircraft conducted airstrikes on the areas around Shevchenko and Vuhledar.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russia is focusing its efforts on maintaining its current positions and hindering the Ukrainian forces from advancing. Russian troops did not undertake any active combat operations but fired on Chervonyi Yar, Murakhivka, Kalynivka, Zelenyi Hai, Kvitneve, Poliana, Chervona Dolyna, Shyroke, Blahodatne, Zoria, and Lupareve with artillery and MLRS.

In the waters of the Black and Azov seas, Russian naval forces are focused on blocking all civilian shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.

Five Russian naval cruise missile carriers are on standby to launch missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine.
