First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska called on Europeans not to forget about the war and to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate for membership of the European Union because Russia will perceive the refusal to do so as a Russian victory.

Quote: "Many people during these almost four months of ongoing Russian aggression tell me that it is difficult for them to even read the news about Ukraine. I understand them very well. It's hard for any normal person with empathy to find out every day that rockets flew into someone's house, right into a room, and killed a family there.
It's hard to read about the shooting of an evacuation column bearing the inscription "children". Furthermore, it is incredible to realise that two children die every day in Ukraine.
It's hard to look at photos of disfigured cities, at sinkholes instead of windows, at people in hospitals, who have been injured by exploding mines."
Details: Olena Zelenska called on graduates of the Aspen Institute to use their leadership so that Ukraine continues to have allies and so that the truth about Russia's cruelty and cynicism is constantly heard on the world stage.
The first lady noted that her appeal was made in the Czech Republic, which will preside over the EU when it decides the fate of membership for Ukraine.
