Update from Sumy Oblast: over 100 ‘incomings’ on 17 June

Over the course of Friday, 17 June, Russian forces fired on Sumy Oblast from all types of weapons. Overall, the oblast received more than 100 ‘incomings’.

Details: After 15:00, two Russian drones appeared in the skies over Krasnopillia hromada [amalgamated territorial community - ed.]: one dropped an explosive device, but the other was shot down by the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
Around 19:00, Russian forces opened mortar fire on Krasnopillia hromada – a total of 24 ‘incomings’ was recorded.
After 20:00, Russia opened artillery fire from Grad MLRS [multiple launch rocket systems - ed.]. A total of around 80 shells were fired on the territory of the hromada. Farming facilities and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged or destroyed.
At 19:30, Russia began firing mortars and artillery on Myropillia hromada. Eye witnesses counted 40 rounds of ammunition: 12 120mm mines, 15 122mm shells, and 13 152mm shells.
There were no casualties.
Earlier:
- The Security Service of Ukraine said it has detained a Russian agent who was carrying out reconnaissance on the Armed Forces' of Ukraine positions in the Sumy region, near the border with Russia.
- As a result of the shelling of Sumy Oblast from the territory of Russia, an agricultural facility was damaged and cows were injured on 16 June.
- On the night of 15–16 June, the Russian occupation forces launched missiles on the territory of Sad hromada in Sumy Oblast, killing four civilians and wounding at least six others.
- On 15 June, Russian helicopters conducted an airstrike on the territory of Sumy Oblast, killing one civilian and wounding six.
