Results of Zelenskyy's meeting with European leaders

At a meeting with European leaders, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented a package of sanctions against Russia; Ukraine has strong support from the international coalition.

Details: The head of the OPU also added that Ukraine had handed "a full package of sanctions against Russia, prepared by the McFaul-Yermak international expert group", to the heads of states.
He stressed the need to increase pressure on the aggressor and work on the seventh package of sanctions, which would include a gas embargo.
"Europe today is with Ukraine. We will win," the head of the OPU summed up.
Background:
- On the morning of 16 June, the leaders of France, Germany and Italy arrived in Kyiv.
- Until very recently, there was uncertainty about the leaders' visit. Only on the evening of 15 June did Western media report, citing sources, that Macron, Scholz and Draghi were still planning to travel to Kyiv together on 16 June to show support for Ukraine and discuss its application for EU membership.
- The European Commission is expected to issue an opinion on 17 June regarding the applications of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova to join the EU.
- During the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis to Kyiv, Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to launch missiles.
- Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary to the Russian president, said the Kremlin hoped that during their visit to Kyiv, the leaders of France, Italy and Germany would "encourage Zelenskyy to take a realistic view of the situation".
