President’s Office reminds Ramstein participants of need for more weapons

Heads of defence departments are meeting on 15 June in Brussels, and Ukraine is awaiting their decision on when weapons will arrive. Ukraine needs weapons badly to be able to defend itself from the Russian army, which has ten times more artillery.

Quote: "The ratio of Russian to Ukrainian artillery in some areas: 10 to 1. Front line — more than 1000 km. Daily, I receive a message from the defenders: "We are holding on, just say: when to expect the weapons?" I address this question to the Ramstein participants. Brussels, we are waiting for a decision."

Reminder: On 15 June in Brussels the meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, the so-called "Ramstein-3", will take place.

The first meeting of Ukraine’s support group, made up of defence department heads, took place on 26 April at the Ramstein Airbase in Germany. Over 40 countries participated. The second meeting took place on 23 May.

On 13 June Mykhailo Podoliak claimed that in order to able to compete with Russia in armaments Ukraine needs to receive a 1,000 155mm-calibre howitzers, 300 multiple launch rocket systems, 500 tanks, 2,000 armoured vehicles and 1,000 drones.

On 9 June a British newspaper "The Independent", owned by a Russian, Alexander Lebedev. wrote that the Russian Armed Forces have supremacy over the Armed Forces of Ukraine by a ratio of 20:1 when it comes to artillery, 40:1 in ammunition terms and 12:1 in combat range terms.
