One-year-old injured and 26 homes damaged in missile attack on Lviv region

The Russian missile that was shot down over Lviv Oblast on 14 June injured a one-year-old child and damaged a brick factory, 26 private houses, 3 commercial facilities, 3 administrative buildings and 2 cars.

Direct quote from Kozytskyi: "Main events of the past 24 hours. The air raid siren sounded once. There was a threat of a Russian missile strike from the Black Sea. Our Air Defence shot down a missile, presumably a Kalibr, over Zolochiv. Fragments of the missile fell on a brick factory.

Six people were injured. Among them is a one-year-old boy. All the casualties are in a satisfactory condition and are receiving outpatient care."

Details: According to Kozytskyi, all these people were in the brick factory or a residential area nearby.

Falling debris from the downed missile destroyed the 1,250-sq.-m roof of the brick factory and damaged a wall, a nearby warehouse and two vehicles.

A total of 26 residential buildings, 3 commercial units and 3 administrative buildings were damaged.

Kozytskyi said the damage was mainly to windows, doors and walls.

Background:

  •   On 14 June there were explosions in Ternopil and Lviv Oblasts, Air Defence was operating and a downed Russian missile damaged an infrastructure facility in Zolochiv. Initially 4 casualties were reported, including a child, but by evening the number had risen to 6.
