Ukrainian military personnel have strategic initiative over Russians along the entire front line – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured listeners that the Ukrainian military has a strategic advantage over the Russian aggressors along the entire front line, and, consequently, the liberation of the occupied territories is imminent.

Quote: "The aggressors’ invasion in the south of Ukraine has been stopped. Yes, they still want to destroy Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and the cities of the Dnipropetrovsk region. They still have enough strength to shoot from artillery at Zelenodolsk and Huliaipole. Odesa remains a target for the Russian fleet."

"However, dozens of the Russian army’s attempts to advance have already been thwarted right there in the south. And thanks to the counteroffensive, some hromadas [Amalgamated Territorial Community -ed.] in the Kherson region have already been liberated."

"In the battles in Donbas – and they will surely go down in military history as among the most brutal battles in Europe and for Europe – the Ukrainian army and intelligence still beat the Russian military tactically. And this is despite the significant advantage of the Russians in the amount of equipment, and especially artillery systems."

"The price of this battle is very high. It’s just horrifying! And we draw the attention of our partners on a daily basis to the fact that only a sufficient quantity of modern artillery for Ukraine will ensure our advantage and put an end at last to the Russian torture of the Ukrainian Donbas."

"We are dealing with absolute evil. And we have no choice but to go on – to free our entire territory, to drive the aggressors out of all our oblasts. And although now the width of our front is already over 2500 kilometres, we see that the strategic initiative is still ours. We will come to all our cities, to all our villages, which are not yet flying our flag. There are no Ukrainian flags on administrative buildings, although I'm sure there are plenty of Ukrainian flags there: just being kept by people, right at home."

Details: Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that the Ukrainian army currently needs the most modern artillery in order to accelerate the retaking of the occupied parts of eastern and southern regions of Ukraine.

He is convinced that all Ukrainian cities will be rebuilt and liberated from the effects of the Russian occupation.

Russian invaders are cutting off Ukrainian mobile communications, television and radio, so that the local population does not feel part of united Ukraine. In addition, the aggressors are not letting in humanitarian aid which the Ukrainian government is providing in order to ensure residents of the occupied territories receive basic medicines and food.
