Two people dead as a result of shelling in the Kharkiv region: houses destroyed, forests set on fire

On 9 June, two people died as a result of shelling by Russian troops in Kharkiv Oblast, said the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.

Details: According to Syniehubov, the Russians opened fire on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, and on the nearby Kharkivskii, Chuhuivskyi, Iziumskyi, Bohodukhivskyi districts, using artillery and MLRS.
As a result of the shelling, houses, warehouses, infrastructure facilities, coniferous forests and forest belts were damaged.
During the day, two civilians were killed and 15 were injured.
In the village of Pechenihy, six people were hospitalised and one person died, while two others died in the village of Mala Danylivka. In Zolochiv, there are five hospitalised, and one person killed. One person was hospitalised in Vyshneve, as well as a 12-year-old boy in the village of Hrushuvakha.
The head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration said that the Russians had not advanced on the front line – they were focused on defence.
Background: As a result of the aggressors’ attack on Kharkiv, fires broke out in the evening of 8 June in the Novobavarskyi district of the city, resulting in two deaths and four wounded.
