Chernihiv Oblast ready for new Russian attacks, but Russia has made no attempts so far

Chernihiv Oblast is ready to fight back if Russia resumes the offensive. However, there is currently no evidence that Russia is forming a strike group for a second offensive.

Quote from Chaus: "As for our defence capabilities…Chernihiv Oblast is ready to defend itself if another wave of active hostilities begins here. Our border guards are prepared. Better prepared than on 24 February. We are prepared for the possibility of another enemy attempt to advance on Chernihiv Oblast."
Details: Chaus noted that a concentration, albeit not critical, of Russian troops has been observed along the entire Ukrainian border (with both Belarus and Russia).
According to the Head of Chernihiv Military Administration, Russian troops continue shelling border-adjacent areas in Chernihiv Oblast and are using river boats to move along the Dnipro river near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in order to keep the Ukrainian forces "on their toes."
Demchenko explained Russia’s reasoning behind this approach.
Quote from Demchenko: "The enemy’s actions are intended to demonstrate its presence [in the area - ed.] so that Ukraine would have to maintain a certain number of defence troops there, thus hindering their redeployment in hot spots and areas of active hostilities.
At the same time, we have no evidence that Russia is forming a strike group to re-enter the territory of Ukraine. However, our reconnaissance suggests that Russian troops are strengthening their positions on the territory of the Russian Federation."
