Podoliak on heavy weapons from NATO: more work, less hype

Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, has assured that Ukraine is receiving weapons from international partners as agreed, although not as quickly as desired. He also urges that the degree of hype around this topic be reduced.

Details: Journalists asked for clarification of the situation when contradictory news appears in the information space almost every day on whether the West is giving Ukraine heavy weapons or not.

Quote from Podoliak: "First of all, everything we need, we are getting, in any case. Maybe not as fast as we’d like… and this is bad because we need it as quickly as possible. But we are getting it, because there is a consensus that is anti-Russian and pro-Ukrainian, including among the military elites of the West.

Secondly, let's not forget that people like to hype things up. That is, they have read something somewhere and now they want to be a newsmaker on a particular topic. Generally speaking, I believe that everything that concerns arms supplies for us should be closed in the informational sense. There will be weapons, they will be used at the front, and then there will be reports, just as we have done.

Everything else, until it comes to the front, is just informational activity. It's not always a question of speculation, it's just that people want to have hope...

And the third component is the Russian information campaigns that want to discredit NATO as an arms supplier - they want to create chaos, including informational chaos. They want to partially influence the military elites of Western countries so that they have less desire to give us something…
