Details: Russian soldiers were reportedly breaking into flats, opening garages and conducting "searches" under the guise of searching for guerrillas and saboteurs.
For example, residents of the airport district have reported that military personnel with machine guns have been cutting off the locks on civilian garages. Where they failed to cut the locks, they used ropes to fasten the doors to a car and ripped them off their hinges.
Locals suspect that the Russians were looking for service vehicles in order to "expropriate" them.
Residents report that the Russian soldiers have also been looking for privately owned vehicles and, if the vehicle registration certificate is located in another city, the vehicle has been confiscated for the benefit of the Russian army.
