It is currently not possible to evacuate civilians from the Luhansk Region because Russian troops are shelling the "salvation route," the highways between Lysychansk and Bakhmut.

Quote from Haidai: "The circumstances will continue getting worse since, in order to drive out the orcs, our soldiers also have to work at full capacity. So shelling might intensify on both sides. This is exactly why we were urging civilians to evacuate. We asked them to ‘untie our soldiers’ hands’ in order to hasten our victory.

And now the people are hostages of the war. Evacuation is no longer possible."

Details: Haidai said that the evacuation bus which was heading for Bilohorivka to evacuate all civilians hiding in the village’s bomb shelters came under enemy fire, making the evacuation impossible.

"Tomorrow there will be no evacuations or humanitarian deliveries," Haidai added.

Background:

  • In the village of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk Region, Russian occupation forces dropped a powerful bomb on a school building where 90 civilians were hiding from Russian shelling.
  • According to preliminary information, 60 people were killed in this attack.
