Quote from Bolhrad City Council: "We at Bolhrad City Council offer our deepest condolences to the Medinskyi family in light of the tragic death of their son, Maksym Medynskyi, lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
Details: The City Council noted that Medynskyi went to the front in 2014 and joined Ukraine’s defence forces without hesitation again in 2022.
In an interview in February 2022 Medynskyi said that he grew up in a military family in Bolhrad. His father is a war journalist and his mother, a teacher, also served in Ukraine’s military. From an early age, Maksym wanted to be a paratrooper.
"I was never afraid of losing my life, I was only afraid of losing it in some stupid situation. So there was no question whether to go to war or not. There is a war in my country, and I have to defend it," Medynskyi said.
He graduated with a journalism degree and worked for online information media.
According to Medynskyi’s Facebook page, he was also working for Ukraine’s Ministry of Infrastructure and was married.
