Details: Security Service said this was not the first confession by a Russian soldier who fought in Ukraine.

The video shows Vadim, a 21-year-old section leader. He said he went to war to "financially support" his mother.

However, he was not in combat for long: after having crossed the border into Ukraine he advanced to Sumy Region and later accompanied a convoy of wounded Russian soldiers back to Russia. The convoy was destroyed by Ukrainian troops, so Vadim and a fellow soldier confiscated 2 cars from civilian citizens of Ukraine.

Vadim opened fire point-blank on a civilian man who had the misfortune of crossing the soldiers’ path. His only "fault" was talking on the phone, Security Service of Ukraine notes.

According to Vadim: "I was told to shoot – so I shot. He fell and we went on."

Details: Security Service of Ukraine stressed that the soldier will not be protected by the fact that he was carrying out an order. Such actions fall under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, Violation of the Laws and Customs of War, and is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
