Ukraine’s National Bank has already disbursed UAH 15.6 billion for army needs. How to donate Ukraine

The National Bank of Ukraine has transferred over UAH 15.6 billion to the military, leaving UAH 125 million on the special account.

Special account to support Ukrainian army

As of 3 May, 2022, the balance on the special account opened by the National Bank to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine is close to UAH 125 million.

In total, the National Bank has already disbursed over UAH 15.6 billion to the military, including:

• UAH 950 million for the needs of the National Guard of Ukraine (26 February - UAH 450 million; 6 March - UAH 500 million);
• UAH 1,650 million for the needs of the National Police of Ukraine (28 February  - UAH 150 million; 3 March - UAH 700 million; 6 March - UAH 800 million);
• UAH 12,033 million for the needs of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine (28 February  - UAH 182.3 million; 1 March - UAH 843 million; 2 March - UAH 1,999.3 million; 4 March - UAH 920 million; 5 March  - UAH 341.2 million; 7 March 2022 - UAH 1,843 million; 8 March 2022 - UAH 597.9 million; 9 March 2022 - UAH 444.5 million; 11 March - UAH 926.2 million; 15 March - UAH 122.7 million; 16 March - UAH 182 million; 17 March - UAH 191.7 million; 18 March - UAH 91 million; 21 March - UAH 330 million; 22 March - UAH 20 million; 24 March - UAH 337 million; 28 March  - UAH 235.2 million; 30 March - UAH 503 million; 1 April - UAH 665 million; 6 April - UAH 305.7 million; 8 April - UAH 122.9 million; 12 April - UAH 176.3 million; 18 April - UAH 247.7 million; 21 April - UAH 182.8 million; 28 April - UAH 221.8 million);
• UAH 980.2 million for the needs of the State Border Guard Service (3 March - UAH 420 million; 11 March - UAH 300 million; 12 March - UAH 106.2 million; 14 March - UAH 154 million).

"In total, the equivalent of more than UAH 15.7 billion has been deposited in this special account since its opening. In particular, the equivalent of more than UAH 4.9 billion has been deposited from abroad in foreign currency (US dollars, euros, British pounds, Canadian dollars, Chinese renminbi, Japanese yen, Swiss francs, Polish zlotys, Australian dollars).

The funds came from citizens and businesses in Ukraine, as well as from the international community (including the United States, Britain, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, France, Canada, Bulgaria, Hong Kong and many other countries)," - the National Bank reports.

Account for humanitarian needs

As of 3 May, 2022, the balance on the account of the Ministry of Social Policy, which the National Bank opened for humanitarian purposes, is close to UAH 341 million.

"In particular, about half of the funds were deposited from abroad in foreign currency (US dollars, euros, British pounds).

In addition, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, which is the recipient and administrator of funds received on this account, has already disbursed more than UAH 172 million to provide humanitarian assistance to victims of the Russian Federation’s armed aggression," the statement said.
