Background: On Sunday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Kharkiv Oblast on a working trip.
On 26 May, Russian troops fired on the Shevchenko, Kyiv and Pavlovo Pole districts of Kharkiv. As a result of the shelling, 9 people were killed, including a 5-month-old baby, and 19 were injured.
