The Russian aggressors are continuing to carry out attacks with cruise missiles, predominantly on the Luhansk front. The Air Force downed one of them on Thursday: an X-59 air-to-surface missile.

Quote: "Enemy aircraft slightly decreased their activity on 26 May, probably due to weather conditions. However, the aggressors’ tactical aircraft continue to patrol around the clock in the Black and Azov Seas and near the borders of Ukraine.

The situation on the Luhansk front remains difficult for the Defence Forces. It is here that missiles of various types fired from the aggressors’ aircraft from Russian territory most often arrive."

Details: One of them – the X-59  air-to-surface missile – was shot down by a Ukrainian Air Force anti-aircraft missile unit.

The Land Force's Air Defence unit hit one Orlan-10 UAV, while one of the brigades shot down a Russian Ka-52 helicopter with a Stinger MANPAD missile.

The Air Force emphasises that Ukrainian fighters continue to patrol our state’s airspace, and Air Force strike aircraft provide fire support to the Defence Forces on the Luhansk front and in other operational areas.
