Russia stated it completed demining of the port of Mariupol and would open a corridor for foreign ships

The Russian Ministry of Defence has stated that the port in seized Mariupol had been completely cleared of mines and that a humanitarian corridor for foreign ships would open on Wednesday morning.

The Russian Ministry of Defence, quote: "As a result of a set of measures taken by the Russian Navy, the mine threat in the waters of the port of Mariupol has been eliminated. Measures are being taken to restore the port infrastructure."
"A humanitarian corridor, 115 miles long and 2 miles wide towards the Black Sea, will be organised for the safe departure of foreign vessels from the port of Mariupol at 08:00 on May 25, 2022."
Details: Mikhail Mizintsev later said that five foreign vessels, previously blockaded due to the threat of shelling and mines, left the port of Mariupol.
"70 foreign vessels from 16 countries remain blocked in six ports (Kherson, Mykolaiv, Chornomorsk, Ochakov, Odesa and Pivdennyi)," Mikhail Mizintsev said.
Background: Ihor Barskyi, director of the Mariupol Sea Commercial Port, said that the Russian aggressors had been trying to partially restore the port of occupied Mariupol, where Ukrainian metal and grain had been stored. This is a signal that aggressors intend to smuggle out stolen Ukrainian property.
