Venediktova admits the possibility of exchanging Shishimarin, the Russian Federation soldier sentenced to life imprisonment

Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova admits that Vadim Shishimarin, convicted of violating the customs of the Russian Federation military, may be exchanged later, but emphasises that Ukraine will strictly adhere to the law.

Quote: "Our scenarios can be completely different. You can exchange a person after court rulings. Yes, technically it is possible.
But I do not want to go into exchange processes, because this is politics and diplomacy; I want to remain in the role of prosecutor and talk about the objective things of criminal justice."
Details: The Prosecutor General noted that Ukraine will act purely in the legal field under the standards of international humanitarian law.
Background: On 23 May, Solomianskyi District Court of Kyiv sentenced Russian serviceman Vadim Shishimarin, accused of killing a civilian in the Sumy region, to life imprisonment.
