Russians try to attack on Bakhmut and Donetsk fronts - General Staff

Russian forces are continuing to conduct offensive operations in eastern Ukraine, launching missile and air strikes on Ukrainian territory.

Details: On the Sloviansk front, Russian forces focused their efforts on creating conditions for the resumption of the offensive. The shelling of settlements along the front continued. In some areas, the invaders tried to conduct reconnaissance by engaging in fighting, suffered losses and retreated.

On the Donetsk front, Russian forces are trying to break through the defences of Ukrainian troops and reach the administrative borders of Luhansk Oblast.

On the Lyman front, the invaders fired on the settlements of Lyman, Zakitne, Ozerne and Dibrova. They also continued to fire on the positions of units of the Defence Forces.

On the Sievierodonetsk front, Russian troops engaged in hostilities near ​​the settlement of Prudivka. The invading forces also tried to launch an offensive to capture the village of Oleksandrivka, but were unsuccessful.

Russian forces continued to shell the positions of the Defence Forces using mortars and artillery along the front lines in this area.

On the Bakhmut front, with the support of artillery, the invaders tried to improve the tactical position of their units. Fighting took place near ​​Toshkivka, Komyshuvakha, Trypillya and Vasylivka.

On the Avdiivka, Kurakhiv, Novopavliv and Zaporizhzhia fronts, a decrease in the intensity of hostilities was recorded. The Russian forces are regrouping to strengthen certain areas.

On the Siversk front, Russian forces are tightening control over the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Bryansk and Kursk regions. The invaders are conducting demonstrative actions in order to prevent the movement of Ukrainian troops' reserves to the Eastern Operational Zone. They continue shelling settlements and objects of civil infrastructure in Sumy and Chernihiv Oblasts.

The Russians did not carry out active offensive operations on the Kharkiv front during the day. They strengthened the police and administrative regime in the temporarily occupied territories.

On the Slobozhansky front, the invaders carried out systematic artillery shelling of Ukrainian troops' positions. To increase the efficiency of the transfer of troops and cargo, measures are being taken to restore the railway infrastructure in the area of ​​the settlement of Kupiansk.

In Volyn and Polissia, as well as in Pivdenni Buh, the occupiers did not conduct active hostilities. On the Bessarabian front, in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, the situation remains tense. In the Black Sea and Sea of ​​Azov, Russian naval groups continue to carry out missions to isolate combat areas and block civilian shipping.
