President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine believes that men of conscription age have a duty to remain in Ukraine while "between 50 and 100 people" are killed in the East of Ukraine each day.

Details: Zelenskyy was asked about his opinion on the online petition asking to make it possible for men to leave Ukraine, which has already gathered 25,000 signatures on the website of the President of Ukraine.
Quote from Zelenskyy: "I don’t know whom the petition addresses. Perhaps, it addresses me. On the other hand, perhaps it should address those parents who had lost their sons, their sons who sacrificed their lives to defend an oblast or a city in our country? And you know, for the most part they weren’t even defending the cities where they were born.
Today, between 50 and 100 people might be killed on the most difficult front, in the East…They are defending our country and our independence, which is so widely discussed all over the world.
So when I see a petition like this, a petition which asks that our men be able to leave the country during martial law, I believe that I’m not the right person to address with such a petition.
This is speaking in terms of humanity. As for the law, we have a certain amount of time to consider and respond to the petitions we receive."
