Western sanctions "virtually wrecked all logistics" in Russia.
Source: Russian Minister of Transport, Vitaliy Savelyev, cited in Meduza [oppositional Russian media - ed.]
Quote from Savelyev: "The sanctions imposed on Russia today have virtually wrecked all logistics in our country. And we are forced to look for new logistics solutions."
Details: To address logistical problems, the Russian authorities are going to rely on the North-South transport corridor, which passes through the Caspian ports of Astrakhan on the Volga, Olya on the Volga-Caspian Canal, and Mahachkala in the Caspian Sea.
Background: Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs complained about Western sanctions, saying that "promoting anti-Russian sanctions hysteria" would not be a stabilising factor for the world economy.
