General Staff report: Russians brought 130 units of equipment to Chornobaivka

The Russian occupiers stationed 130 units of military equipment in the outskirts of Chornobaivka near Kherson.

The enemy has not stopped conducting offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone and shelling the area along the front line and deep among the Ukrainian troops’ defences in the Donetsk operational area and on the Sloviansk front.

On the Pivdennyi Buh and Tavriia fronts, the grouping of the occupying forces are focused on maintaining the occupied frontiers, conducting reconnaissance, carrying out engineering work on the equipment of their positions and providing logistical support to their units.

The Russian occupying forces continue to carry out engineering work on the equipment of the second line of defence.

In order to prevent the advance of Ukrainian units, the invaders mined the bridge over the Inhulets River in the area of ​​Davydiv Brod."

Details: On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, Ukrainian intelligence is recording the rotation of up to 7 battalions of the Belarusian army, assigned to carry out tasks to cover areas of the border with Ukraine.

The Belarusian military command has deployed two Tochka-U missile divisions at separate ranges and one division of the Smerch MLRS.

In the Gomel region, the Belarusian command plans to hold a meeting of conscripts from 22 June to 1 July.

The aggressors fired on Ukrainian positions in the north of Kharkiv with artillery and carried out remote mining of the possible route where Ukrainian defenders are expected to advance.

On the Sloviansk front, the Russian occupying forces are focusing their main efforts on conducting offensive operations, regrouping troops, as well as accumulating material and technical resources. The aggressors fired artillery at the positions of Ukrainian troops south and southwest of the city of Izium. In order to clarify the position of our troops, they conducted air reconnaissance with two Orlan-10 UAVs.

Near Yaremivka, the Russian occupiers are preparing to build a pontoon crossing over the Siverskyi Donets River. 

On the Donetsk front, the invaders are trying to conduct active hostilities in the  Lymanskyi, Sievierodonetsk and Bakhmutskyi areas. 

On the Lyman and Sievierodonetsk fronts, the aggressors fired on the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of the settlements of Lyman, Siversk, Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk. 

On the Bakhmut front, with the support of artillery, the Russian occupying forces are conducting an offensive, trying to seize new frontiers in the area around Popasna, but they have failed to do so.

On the Kurakhiv front, with the support of artillery and assault aircraft, the Russian troops launched an offensive in the area of the village of Novomykhailivka (10 km south of Marinka), but failed.

In Mariupol, the invaders are conducting "filtering" among the local population.

In the Russian-occupied territory of the so-called "Transnistrian Moldavian Republic'', Russian special services are conducting destabilisation operations. Unknown people are spreading information about the alleged mining of social infrastructure and so-called "state institutions of Transnistria'' in Tiraspol, Dubossary, Bender and Rybnitsa.

On the Novopavlivskyi, Kryvorizkyi, Khersonskyi and Zaporizkyi fronts, there are no significant changes compared to the situation as of 19 May.

Background: 

  • Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said in an interview that Russian President Vladimir Putin was at a dead end because he could neither win the war nor retreat.
  • As of the morning of 20 May, the Russian army had lost more than 28,700 troops, 204 aircraft, 168 helicopters, 1,263 tanks, 596 artillery systems and 460 operational and tactical drones.
