Dmytro Kozatskyi with the call sign Orest, a Ukrainian defender from the Azov Regiment, shared farewell photos from Azovstal.

He took pictures of the daily lives of Ukrainian soldiers in a shelter during the defence.

Dmytro posted the photos on his Twitter page.

"Thank you for the shelter, Azovstal - the place of my death and my life.

By the way, while I am in captivity, I will leave you photos in the best quality; send them to all journalistic awards and photo contests, if I win something, it will be very nice after the release," Dmytro wrote.

Earlier, the Orest’s photo from Azovstal, where the defender of Mariupol stands in the sun, circulated quickly among Ukrainian and world publications.

Russian troops blocked Mariupol on 1 March, and from the end of April the city's defenders were blocked at the Azovstal plant.

Among them are soldiers of the Azov National Guard regiment, marines, border guards, police. On 14 May, defenders reported that there were about 600 wounded at the plant, with almost no medicine, water or food.

On 17 May, at least seven buses controlled by the occupiers left Azovstal. 256 Ukrainian soldiers, including 51 wounded, were taken to a colony located in the occupied territory [Soldiers were brought to the territory of the former colony in occupied Olenivka in the Donetsk region].
