To release the child, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a special operation in the Chernihiv Oblast, when the region was temporarily occupied by invaders.
Source: Artem Dekhtiarenko, SSU spokesman
Quote: "With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the boy's mother - a servicewoman-contractor of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - sent him to relatives in one of the villages in Chernihiv region for safety.
But soon the village was temporarily occupied, and the [telephone] connection with her son was lost.
A few days later, the mother received a call from an unknown number. She was told that her son was in captivity. The occupiers set a condition for the teenager's release: in exchange for information about the location of a number of military facilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are located in the region.
The woman turned to the Security Service of Ukraine for help. In response, counterintelligence agents developed and conducted a successful special operation to save the child. "
Details: Dekhtiarenko added that the materials of the investigation are attached to numerous pieces of evidence that the occupiers violated the laws and customs of war.
