National Guard members defending Mariupol call for evacuation of entire garrison

Fighters from the National Guard, who have been blockaded by the Russian aggressors at the "Azovstal" plant, have appealed to the state leadership and Ukraine's international partners.

Details: The soldiers emphasise that the humanitarian situation at "Azovstal" has become catastrophic.
Quote: "We are calling on the country's top military and political leadership, as well as on the international community, to do everything possible to evacuate civilians who remain at the plant, wounded soldiers and the bodies of the deceased.
In the interest of the lives of our military personnel, I am calling for the evacuation of the entire military garrison, because they are worth it."
Background:
- The evacuation from Mariupol city, blockaded by Russian troops, is scheduled for 7 a.m. on 3 May. The Lunacharske Ring road near Berdiansk is the assembly point.
- A massive fire, visible from all over Mariupol, broke out following the Russian bombardment at the "Azovstal" plant on 2 May.
