Background: Starovoit claimed on Wednesday evening that the "enemy" had shelled the village of Alekseevka for the third time, as well as the village of Tyotkino.

In addition, on 17 May, Starovoit claimed that the bordering village of Alekseevka had been shelled with "high calibre weapons".

Also, shelling from the Ukrainian side is periodically reported in the Belgorod region. For example, on 18 May, in the village of Solokhi in the Belgorod region, after explosions, witnesses allegedly found mortar shells. On 17 May, the authorities of the Belgorod region reported the shelling of the village of Bezymyanoe near the border with Ukraine. On 15 May, the Russians reported the shelling of the village of Sereda in Belgorod, seemingly from the Ukrainian border.

The head of the faction "Spravedlivaya Rossiya – Za Pravdu" in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Sergey Mironov, called on the Russian military to launch missile strikes on the headquarters and government buildings of Ukraine for the shelling of Russian villages on the border with Ukraine.

In the meantime, Russian troops continue to shell Ukrainian settlements in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
