Quote: "Kherson, Melitopol, Berdyansk, Enerhodar, Mariupol and all of our cities and settlements that are under occupation - under temporary occupation - should know that Ukraine will return."
"I said today in my address on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Deportation of the Crimean Tatar People that our state does not leave anyone behind and recovers what belongs to Ukraine by right. We remember Crimea. And we will never forget 1944 - the genocide of Crimean Tatars committed by the Soviet authorities. And 2014 - the second wave of destruction of everything that was free on the Crimean peninsula."
Details: The President stated that the answer to the question of how long the war will last can only be given by the situation on the battlefield.
"We are trying to do it as soon as possible. That's for sure. We are obliged to drive out the aggressors and guarantee Ukraine’s true security," he said.
"That is why I signed decrees to extend martial law and the period of general mobilisation. I hope that the Verkhovna Rada [parliament -ed.] of Ukraine will approve this decision soon. Our army and all those who defend the state must have all the legal tools to act steadily," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Background: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed extending the term of martial law and the period of general mobilisation almost until the end of the summer.
