Russia's Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has said that Russia's war in Ukraine has foiled Western plans to establish a controlled regime in Russia.
Source: Patrushev at a meeting of the Scientific Council of the Republic of Belarus, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the Secuity Council press service
Quote: "The West seeks to create conditions for the establishment of a Western-controlled regime in Russia, as has already been done in Ukraine and a number of other states. A special military operation foiled these plans."
"We were forced to resort to this as a preventative measure, because the level of threats to national security and of neglect of our country's interests reached a level that threatened Russia's actual statehood and existence."
Details: Patrushev did not specify how Ukraine allegedly threatened Russia's existence before the war.
