Russians “congratulate” Sumy Region on Victory Day with a barrage of missiles and artillery

On 9 May, the Russian military shelled the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, firing at least two dozen missiles into Sumy Region during the day in addition to firing from multiple rocket launchers.

In the morning, the Sumy region was shelled twice by multiple rocket launchers from Russian territory.

Shortly after 9 am, ten missiles were fired from the Russian village of Yelizavetovka. They exploded about 10 km from the border in a field between two villages in the Khotin municipal territorial community (hromada).

Less than half an hour later, another ten missiles from Russia struck a field in Sumy Region. There were no casualties as a result of the shelling."

Details: The evening of 9 May ended once again with the sound of air raid sirens and shelling in Sumy Region.

At around 10 pm, the Russians shelled the Nova Sloboda and Vorozhba municipal territorial communities.

There were no casualties, and information on the damage is being clarified.

The area covered by the Hirsk border guard division in Chernihiv Region was also shelled by the Russian Federation on 9 May.
