Syniehubov added that, thanks to the efforts of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Russian shelling has decreased in intensity. However, residents should remain vigilant.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration later said that the occupiers were striking Kharkiv again on the morning of 1 May.

"Due to the intense shelling, we urge residents of the northern and eastern districts of Kharkiv, including Saltivka, not to leave their shelters during the day without an urgent reason. Even if there are no air-raid sirens. Be cautious, security comes first," Syniehubov wrote.
