Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that the authorities have no information concerning the allegation that Tiraspol airport is preparing to receive Russian planes, but also that this risk cannot be ruled out.
According to NewsMaker, she said this at a press conference, writes European Pravda.
"According to information from our institutions, work is done at this airfield every spring. It is difficult to say whether the work being done this spring is different from last year’s. At the moment, our institutions and partners have no information regarding preparations for the illegal use of this airfield by Russian aircraft. That does not mean there is no risk. We continue to monitor the situation", Sandu said.
On 6 April, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in its daily briefing that Ukraine did not rule out Russia using Transnistrian territory to support an offensive in the South Buh region, and that preparations to receive aircraft were underway at Tiraspol airfield.
