Lavrov is hiding behind “negotiations” to brush off accusations of Russian atrocities in Bucha

Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov has invented another line of "defence" to wash his hands of the crimes of the Russian army in Ukraine. In his words, Ukraine intends to disrupt negotiations by drawing attention to Russia's atrocities in Bucha.

Verbatim: "This poses the question: what is the reason for this outright, false provocation, the truth of which is simply impossible to justify? We tend to think that the reason is the desire to find a pretence to disrupt the negotiations …"
"After Istanbul, the Ukrainian side began to back down, trying to impose new terms. However, as soon as the Western media distributed the ‘fake news’ about Bucha town, Ukrainian negotiators tried to interrupt the negotiation process altogether."
Details: According to the representative of the Kremlin regime, the course of negotiations will not benefit from "some additional steps from Russia" that Ukraine demands.
Sergei Lavrov acknowledged that Ukraine adamantly refuses to discuss "de-Nazification", "demilitarisation" and the "problem" of the Russian language.
At the same time, the Russian minister stated that Russia is refusing to withdraw its troops and rejects the suggestion of holding a referendum on non-aligned status in Ukraine after troops are withdrawn. Sergei Lavrov worries that Ukrainians will not support the idea of non-aligned status and that they will then have to return to the "negotiation process."
